Job Description

As a Product Designer, you will work within a Product Delivery Team fused with UX, engineering, product and data talent. You will help the team design beautiful interfaces that solve business challenges for our clients. We work with a number of Tier 1 banks on building web-based applications for AML, KYC and Sanctions List management workflows. This role is ideal if you are looking to segue your career into the FinTech or Big Data arenas.

    About the role:

    Explosive Ordnance Services (EOS) is part of Vehicles and Tactical Systems Country Business Unit. EOS operates 17 depots around Australia to provide a storage, distribution and maintenance service for Explosive Ordnance used by the Australian Defence Force.

    You will manage the EO Services Site in Western Australia as part of the Western Region in accordance with the Contract Statement of Work (SOW) and Performance Management Framework, to ensure safety, compliance and customer service.

    • Liaise and communicate with customers on requirements, level of service and opportunities for improvement
    • Lead, manage and maintain a receipt, storage, maintenance and distribution capability for EO and associated items
    • Maintain and operate equipment in accordance with Defence specific and local instructions
    • Assist and cooperate with the conduct of the stocktake/ spot check and rectify identified inadequacies in warehousing that lead to errors
    • Coordinate the preparation and timely submission of relevant reports and documentation
    • Lead, manage and oversee direct reports, including all aspects of performance appraisal, and development discussions
    • Maintain and enhance relationship with the customer by maintaining a proactive visit schedule
    • Ensure that all Thales Australia facilities are maintained in a safe and efficient manner
    • Maintain the required level of EO support to the customer in order to receive contracted performance incentives

    How About You?

    • Diploma level (or higher) in logistics or a relevant business or industry related subject
    • Previous experience within a similar role with demonstrated knowledge of the logistics and warehouse industry
    • Good oral and written communication skills, able to communicate with all levels of the organisation
    • Experience within the Defence, EO depot and/or wharf management would be highly advantageous
  • You have some previous experience working in an agile environment – Think two-week sprints.
  • You are familiar using Jira and Confluence in your workflow
